You can be successful at school

Being successful at school doesn’t have anything to do with being smart or intelligent, it has everything to do with your mindset.

Pause a moment and noticed the thoughts you have about school right now. What is the first word that come up when you think about going to class?

Is it negative?

It’s understandable you are being pushed by teachers, by parents to do well in class, and when you realize that you can’t perform well you feel like you are a disappointment, and it hit your self-esteem.

When I was in high school I didn’t have good grades, but I knew the only thing that mattered was to get this high school diploma to be able to get a decent job. In my home country the only way to earn that diploma is by taking a regent exam at the end of the last grade school year. The grades earned during classroom exams won’t count. Since my grades don’t matter, I prayed God to help me get the high school diploma at the first try, even though I never prayed in my life.

You don’t have to pray to get good grades, but a change in the way you approach the subject is necessary.

Neil de Grass Tyson approached learning calculus by telling himself that the only way he will be successful is by learning the formulas.

What applied for school can be applied everywhere else, we need to change our approach.

Try it this school year, and let me know how it goes!
